The small ground Partula

Partula atilis

This species was known from Voaara and Uparu valleys on Raiatea island. It was collected there by Andrew Garrett in the 1860s and then again by Henry Crampton in 1908. This site was not visited again utnil after Euglandian had eliminated all the partula in the area. It is thought to have bcome extinct in about 1993. This was one of the few Partula species to have lived on the ground.
