The Raiatean slender mountain Partula

Partula dolorosa

This species was only found on the high Temehani plateau on Raiatea. It was discovered by Henry Crampton in 1909 and a few were found in 1992 when the last surviving Raiatean Partula were collected for breeding. Euglandina invaded the plateau shortly afterwards. Unfortunately it did not establish in captivity and is now extinct.
