The Tahaa hermit Partula

Partula eremita

This was one of the mystery Partula: known from a single shell found by Henry Crampton on Tahaa. The isolation of the shell on the side of a mountains led Crampton to associate the name of hermit with this species. It probably became extinct when Euglandina arrived on the island in the 1980s or 90s.
