Only one species lived on Bora-Bora island. This was a relatively uniform species, usually being yellow although there were several rare colour forms. It was first found in the early 1800s and appears to have been very abundant on the small island. Unfortunately because scientists rarely visited this famous resort island we do not know when Euglandina reached the island and the Bora-Bora Partula became extinct before any rescue could be attempted.
