Tahiti nodular Partula

Partula nodosa

Partula nodosa was restricted to the western valleys of Tahiti. It was one of the best defined and easiest to recognised species. When the predatory snail Euglandina rosea invaded the area P. nodosa vanished very quickly. Fortunately some had been taken into captivity by then and these have bred very well. It is now the most abundant captive species and in July 2015 they were reintroduced to Tahiti.
