The diversity of Partula snails |

Over 150 species of Partula snails have been described from islands between New Guinea and French Polynesia. Many of these are very poorly known and based on old descriptions; it has been not clear how many of these are valid species. Researchers are attempting to evaluate the true level of diversity and to understand how the different species have evolved.
